Artisanal Sicilian carob syrup: a natural sweetener with no added sugars, with an intense flavor, perfect for desserts and creative recipes.
This carob extract is made from our carob pods grown in the Ispica quarry. Its sweetness comes directly from the fruit, with no added sugars.
A recipe with roots in history: during the Second World War, when sugar was scarce or absent, carob represented a valuable alternative natural sweetener.
The result is a syrup with an intense and enveloping flavour, naturally sweet.
Perfect for sweetening desserts, biscuits, shortcrust pastry, or plain yogurt, but also for more creative experiments: on fruit salads, fresh ricotta, or sweet and sour combinations, for marinades or vinnagrette.
Also known as “Dibs el kharrub” in Middle Eastern countries, it is used in numerous traditional preparations, from tahini creams to spicy salads.
An ancient and versatile ingredient, combining Sicilian tradition with influences from distant cuisines.
